«ARCHITECTURAL STORIES»
Type – Exposition project
Location – Central House of Artist, Moscow, Russia
Date –
Last week (May 24-28), the architectural company FAS(t) presented an exhibition called “ARCHITECTURAL STORIES” as part of the “ARCHITECTURE NEXT. NEW VOICES” project, during the XII INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION OF ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN ARCH MOSCOW 2017 at the Central House of Artist, 10 Krymsky Val.
"We collaborated on the “ARCHITECTURAL STORIES” exhibition with the architectural theorist and critic Sergei Sitar. We have displayed parts of four different projects in the form of models, each of which tells its unique story. The text is supplemented with drawings, photo realistic renderings and photos of completed buildings. You can pick up a zine dedicated to the exhibition.
We believe that one of the possible definitions of architecture is the creation of meaningful spaces. The history of architecture is replete with examples of spaces full of meanings, stories, and narrative scenarios.
As we work on each project, we create stories that are told through Architecture. The very fact that Architecture can speak and communicate with people is very important to us, as that discourse occurs in the context of the problematics between people and the spacial structures and buildings they create. Architecture communicates with people solely on an emotional level; it tells us stories through its timeless and always relevant tools: light, mass, scale, proportions, and tactile sensations engendered by the materials."
